Hardware Engineering Intern
We are looking to hire a full time Engineering Intern for the summer to join our product development team. Under the general supervision of the VP of Engineering, this position will support hardware product development activities for our commercial thermal imaging products. Ideal candidates will be self-driven and have strong initiative, and enjoy creating solutions involving both hardware and software.
Design, build, and test engineering solutions for internal test hardware.
Develop methodologies to test product performance or create new process capabilities.
Evaluate alternative design concepts by performing analysis and/or modeling.
Bring up and debug proof-of-concept prototypes.
Thoroughly document and support implemented design solutions.
Interface with engineering and production staff on assigned projects.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of electrical-mechanical-software systems design and analysis desired.
Knowledge with C, C#, C++, MATLAB, and Python desired.
Experience with analog/digital circuits and calibrated sensors desired.
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively partner with others.
Good communication abilities, both verbally and written.
Good computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoin
QUALIFICATIONS: (Education and experience)
Working towards BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field
Work environment is in a normal office environment and also includes manufacturing facility with moderate noise level. The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and use the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision and extensive work at a desk and computer. The employee must regularly exert or lift up to 25 pounds of materials. Some business travel may be required.
